These people keep the world going..!!

I am writing about #MyRoleModel as a part of the activity by Gillette India in association with BlogAdda.com.

Couple of years ago, in my journey from Shegaon to Badnera from LTT-Howrah Express I saw something that’s not found so often or very rare in our daily life.
I left from Shegaon early morning at around 0600 hours. Journey was much as usual...fights for 6 inch space, smell from toilet that reminds of rotten eggs, some too sleepy people spreading there HAIRY legs over each other’s HAIRY legs, with screams “ladies ahe ho jaga dya na thodi..thodich paije (we have ladies here, please give some space) which was at all not new for a regular traveler.
Somehow over packed train started and journey begins.
Shegaon-Nagzari-Paras-Gaigaon and there came Akola. Akola being populated is one the fine place; but I love it as I spent my 2 years (11th-12th) in this town.
On the Akola platform, there were many people who furiously entered in train waking up the half asleep peoples (who somehow managed to sleep) shouting and screaming. But there was a person who attracted my attention in that boogie.
A very aged person, appearance only of skeleton, “TIKKA” on his forehead, frowned, brown dyed hairs, physically handicapped in “KHAKI” dress with walking stick in his hand climbed in train. People sitting comfortably were a bit shocked that how did he managed to enter the train? But that lasted for picoseconds in mind. And train departed.

Watching him walking only with the support of his stick compassionately I offer him my place. But he just smiled and shown his bag; he was a chapman. Then in reply I too gave him soothing smile.
Then he started selling his edibles (they were indeed cause that were including only chocolates, roasted groundnut and few more but complete absence of carcinogenic items).

And his words strike to my ears with no time - sirf do rupaye mein train se utarne tak khussshhhhhhh…!! Lelo bhai lelo.. do rupaye mein train se utarne tak khussshhhhhh…!!Get happy in just 2 rupees. By the time you are departing from the train! Be happy.

His “khussshhhh..!!” was just replica of sound of train whistle.

Watching absence of most demanded EDIBLES I asked him- aapke thailey mein goa, supreme guthakha dikh nai raha..!! - I cannot find Goa, Supreme gutkha in your bag..!!

Don’t get me wrong; I never had any of them but just aware of.
He replied- dekho bhai mai bol raha hu train se utarne tak ho jao khush. Wohh toh khush ho hijayenge lekin kal usss wajah se unko taklif hui toh. Wohh unhe bahot dukh denga. Aur unke aapno ko bhi. - See brother, I am saying get happy by the time you get off train. The person will be happy, but because of having guthka they might hamper the happiness of their beloved people.

He means to say malfunctions due to tobacco.
Hearing this I was completely shocked. One lame-handicapped person is putting an unknown person’s health forward and putting his own interest of earning on sake. Amazing…!!
I might have diverted him from his work for 5 min, but with this short interview he started his job once again for earning.

All the persons sitting in boogie were astonished hearing talks in between us. With his great thoughts many sitting/standing moved to him and without any previous intentions of purchasing any junkie purchased few of them. Just soon as he gets back to work I call him and I too purchased few of them.

Meanwhile in journey I got few people who were gazing at me like I have done or said something wrong. But I ignored them and gave a look like – Buddy mind your business..if you do have any..!!

Journey continues and my destination Badnera arrived. I was much willing to know more about that seller. At the same moment he arrived at the same door from where I was landing.
Stepping on platform I patted his shoulder and asked- utarne tak toh khush rakh dia..!! ab aage kaise rakhonge..?? - You kept us happy till now, but whats next?

He replied - dekho bhai aap khush tab hi rahonge jab aapke karibi-aapke aapne khush ho. Wohh khush toh aap khush. Mera koi apne nai hai. Train mein mil jate hai kuch tum jaise. - You will remain happy only if your close ones are happy. Their happiness will reflect in your life. I do not have someone of mine. Meet someone like you in journey.

I just gave a soothing smile. Talking few more steps he asked - tum kya karte ho..admission ke kia aaye ho..?? - What you do..came for admission??

Wow..!! again shocked; this guy is aware of the thing that admissions are going on right now.

With my eyebrows up I said- nai mai yahi BE kar raha hu. Badnera mein. Computer science. - No. I am a student of BE in Badnera.
He- aachi baat hai. Bas aise hi tarakki karte raho. - Very good! Keep it up.
Me- aap kaha se kaha jate ho..?? - Where are you travelling..??
He- Arre ab kya Gitanjalli aayengi waha se wapas Bhusawal. Chalu apna. - What now! Gitanjali will arrive and I will go back to Bhusaval. Journey continues.
And I was thinking he travels from Akola to Badnera as I saw him from there.

And with a blink of an eye many of passengers came running towards him and shouting his name just like public shout on arrival of any celebrity. Again shocked…!! (for few seconds I even thought if he is any?)

That gathered crowd was the ones who know him personally and were the same to him at some time as I was to him when I first meet him. That crowd too was emphasized from him.
Watching all this I insisted him to take a snap of him. His words delighted me - arre phir kabhi nikal lena..hum milte toh rahenge..!! - Dear, we can have it any other day. We will keep on meeting. (what..!! In this crowd of 1.21 billion people he was hopeful of meeting again. But I wasn’t; so I forced him for a click!)

I convinced him someway and not even asked him for smile..because he never required as he was already having a big one.

Let me introduced you to this person.
This unique person is known as “MAHARAJ” on the platforms. Only thing I did not ask him was his name because his fans already came shouting to him.

But don’t know by what name were he been called by his wife, children and parents..neither I was eager to know. Watching such people still exist in this world I feel great. Am with hopes that one day I will meet him again and will be the part of same crowd shouting “MAHARAJ...MAHARAJ...”
